I am writing to express my support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. It’s time that the Maryland General Assembly prioritize the passage of laws that save the lives of unborn children and protect vulnerable women.
Substantial medical evidence and scientific research shows that by this point in development, 20 weeks after fertilization (if not earlier), unborn children are capable of feeling pain.
Each year, during the late-term stages of pregnancy, 18,000 healthy unborn babies go through the extremely painful process of being aborted (brutally murdered).
The United States is one of seven countries in the world that permits abortion after 20 weeks.
Please end this inhumane and intolerable act of brutality against defenseless human beings. I request that you immediately pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in both the House of Delegates and State Senate.
